United was crushed by Manchester City last weekend in the derby and a lot of conclusions were made. The obvious one is that the Red Devils' defense relies mainly in the French center-back Raphael Varane. Without him, Martínez and Dalot are lost. Therefore, the board came to a verdict: a new defender is needed.

Since Manchester United are looking to improve, the signing of Kim Min-jae makes sense. The Napoli defender is 25 years old and has already international experience with the South Korean National team. He debuted with the national team in 2017 and since then has played 44 games and scored three goals and he is likely to appear in the next World Cup.

With Ronaldo leaving Manchester this is the transfer Erik ten Hag wants

He has the potential to become one of the best defenders in the world and United would be wise to sign him while they can. He is known for his pace and physicality and has been touted as one of the best defenders in Asia. So far since arriving in Italy he has played 10 games and even scored twice!

How much would United have to pay to sign Kim Min-jae?

With United's current defensive options struggling for form and fitness, signing a player like Kim Min-jae could be a wise move. However, they will likely have to pay a hefty fee. Napoli paid just over €18 million for the player last year, but his value has surely increased since then. It remains to be seen if United is willing to spend the almost 44 million pounds release clause on the young defender.
