It has been a rough season for the United forwards as all of them have gone through something this season and the output has not been there. Marcus Rashford has seen a huge dip in stats from last year, Rasmus Hojlund is still adapting, Antony has zero goal contributions, and Alejandro Garnacho is still getting used to being more of a starter and not an impact player.

Another forward that has not had smooth sailing this season so far is Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has struggled once again with nagging injuries that have prevented him from being consistently available for Erik Ten Hag. Martial started five games in the Premier League with only one goal, which came against Everton at Goodison Park. Since that goal, Martial made two starts, which were quite underwhelming and led to heavy criticism from the media upon the forward.
It has been over a month since Anthony last featured in a game, which was a three-nil loss to Bournemouth at home, and whilst the player is out with injury, he is in the middle of multiple transfer rumors. The forward has been linked with a couple of Premier League clubs in Wolverhampton Wanderers, and West Ham United. The player is also wanted by the two Turkish giants of Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Nothing serious has materialized with these rumors.
Martial is set to exit United at the end of the season, unless a club buys him this winter or Manchester United and the forward comes to agreement on fresh terms for a contract extension. The club decided not to trigger the one-year option that would have seen Martial stay at the club on his current wages of 200k pounds per week.

After being constantly asked about updates on Martial, Ten Hag is consistent with his answers saying the Frenchman is ill and not fit. According to the Daily Mail, the Dutch coach has told Martial that in order to rejoin team training he needs to do individual training first to regain fitness. The manager does not believe he is ready to train at the current intensity.
