Manchester United were able to resolve one of the most complicated situations they had before the transfer window closed, as we know Mason Greenwood had to leave the club after all the investigations that were carried out on his case and that the board determined that the young promise was not going to have a place in the squad, so they were looking for a new destination.
During the last hours of the transfer window, the Red Devils were able to finalise the transfer of Mason Greenwood to Getafe, this transfer was for a loan until the end of the season, where United will have to pay more than 50% of the player's salary, so it is beginning to be rumoured that, depending on his performance with the Spanish club, he could have a chance to return to Old Trafford for next season.
However, it is still way ahead of the facts, as the British striker is coming from almost a year and a half of not being able to get on the pitch due to an off-field situation with his ex-partner, so during all this summer he could not train at the Carrington facilities with his other teammates despite a judge acquitting him of any charges related to domestic violence of which he had been prosecuted.
One of the reasons he was unable to return to the Red Devils' squad was because of threats made to the board by some of the team's staff, who had said they would resign if Greenwood was reinstated with the club, and the women's team raised their voices in protest when it was speculated that Ten Hag was going to give him a new chance.
Due to the complicated situation surrounding the Mason Greenwood case, the board had to transfer him last Friday, so now after four days and having completed all the medical examinations, Getafe officially presented their new reinforcement at "Alfonso Perez Coliseum” in front of more than 5,000 people.
