Manchester United failed to take advantage of the chances they had in the first half to take the lead and were outplayed in a second half that was completely dominant for Tottenham, who capitalised on defensive errors and Ten Hag's side's inability to get close to goal in the second half.
During this start of the Premier League, the club has left more doubts than certainties, as in the match against Wolverhampton the team was outplayed in general terms, although they were able to get the victory, the fans were not happy with what they showed, as the Red Devils have been having irregular matches since pre-season.
Similarly, several players have not been able to shine, especially the defensive part of the team, one of the players who disappointed in the match against Tottenham was Lisandro Martinez, who, although he had some saves and good actions, could not perform in the way we were used to.
The Argentinian defender, who had been carrying an ankle injury all week, was unable to continue in the second half of the Red Devils' opener and was replaced by Lindelof. At first it was speculated that he would not be available, but the medical report at the last minute revealed the seriousness of the injury and Martinez was allowed to play.
The match against Tottenham was disappointing for Manchester United in the last 45 minutes, after failing to create scoring chances, while Postecoglou's side were able to take advantage of defensive errors, especially Lisandro Martinez who failed to clear a shot towards goal in the second goal and ended up scoring an own goal, which would give the definitive victory to Spurs, this being their first defeat of the season.
