Manchester United wanted to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford, he was one of the main options to reinforce the striker and solve the goalscoring issue, however, the situation could change, which would take the striker away from the club for good.

During the summer there was a lot of talk about the possible departure of Harry Kane from Tottenham, many media and fans believed that the British striker would seek new horizons and that his arrival options were Manchester United and Bayern Munich, as the teams most interested in the player, as well as being willing to pay the great value that Spurs would have put on him.

However, in a drastic change in the negotiations, the London club would have asked both teams to cease their intention to sign the player, as they would not have in mind to sell Harry Kane, apart from the fact that they would ask for almost 200 million for the striker, a figure almost impossible for the Red Devils to pay and with which their hopes of acquiring the player were dramatically reduced.

This would have left Ten Hag with few options to sign a new striker and although rumours have been swirling about possible attacking arrivals, it is true that United wanted Kane this summer no matter what.

Spurs' offer, which would take Kane further away from Old Trafford

At some point, Harry Kane would have let Tottenham know his intentions to leave the club and seek new opportunities in teams that allow him to win titles, however, Spurs refused to let the striker free even though he is in his last year of contract, for that reason the London team, would be preparing an offer for the renewal of contract, which would exceed and by many the 200 thousand pounds a week that the player currently earns, so Tottenham, hopes that Kane will decide soon and stay at the club.
