Manchester United still have issues to resolve, with some of the signings that Erik Ten Hag wants stalled by various issues that the manager is unable to resolve, yet the team is still looking to strengthen before pre-season starts.

One of the signings that has not been resolved and whose situation looks complicated is that of Bayern Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong. According to reports from Sky Sports, the Dutchman impressed last season and Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on him.

However, the Gunners are no longer the only team interested in signing the defender, as Manchester United are reportedly joining forces to sign the player; the German side have stated that they are looking for around 35 million for Frimpong, a figure not too high and one that either of the two interested clubs would be willing to pay, but United would have a problem in that they would need the takover of the sale of the team in order to have a deal for the defender.

This undoubtedly leaves the Red Devils at a disadvantage as they look to continue strengthening the team, Ten Hag would have to look for another option and see how to reach an agreement so that the signing could happen, although there have only been talks between United and Leverkusen, further updates on the issue could come out in the next week.

Who is Jeremie Frimpong?

He is a 22 year old Dutch defender who has been playing in the Bundesliga with Bayern Leverkusen since the 20/21 season, last season Frimpong showed his true potential by playing in 47 games, getting over 3,000 minutes and scoring 9 goals, a high figure for a defender, which is why Arsenal and Manchester United became interested in the youngster.
