Since the end of the 2022-2023 season, Manchester United have been trying to close their first signing, however so far they have not been able to do so due to a number of factors including the sale of the club, which has kept Erik ten Hag on tenterhooks as to how much money he will have for the transfer window, in which his top priority is to sign a world class center forward and his favorite is Harry Kane.

Harry Kane is coming off the back of scoring 30 goals last season in the Premier League, and although Tottenham failed to qualify for any European competition, the 29-year-old English striker is still one of the best in the world. That is why Erik ten Hag made him the team's top priority, but his high cost and Spurs' unwillingness to sell him make his signing, at least this summer, impossible.

However, for Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, Erik ten Hag should think twice before trying to sign Kane, because although he is an experienced striker with proven quality, the former Red Devils midfielder is not sure he is the ideal player for the team.

Winner of absolutely everything with Manchester United, Paul Scholes is an authority on the subject and it seems that he is not happy with the possibility of Harry Kane joining the club.

Scholes' words on Harry Kane

The legendary Paul Scholes claimed in April this year that Harry Kane seems to be happy at Tottenham , so trying to sign him could be a waste of time. "If he was going to move, it would have been to Man City a couple of years ago. It would be fantastic, 25 goals guaranteed, but it's very difficult to move at 30," he said.  In addition, Scholes also made reference to how difficult it could be to convince Tottenham owner Daniel Levy. "It's a risk for Man United as well, if you put all your eggs in the Harry Kane basket and suddenly Daniel Levy is playing you and you don't get anyone."
