Manchester United is through to the next round of another cup competition in a space of four days after securing the quarterfinal spot in the Europa League against Sevilla, who are the most successful team in the second tier of the UEFA club competition.
The Red Devils secured a very challenging comeback victory against visiting Fulham after what was a rather bizarre evening of football for the visitors that saw him tie change in a matter of seconds at very crucial moments, which Manchester United capitalized on.
After a very poor first half from both teams, things got off to an early start in the second half as Manchester United fell behind to a powerful 18-yard finish from Fulham off a corner kick. The London visitors looked set for victory but a handball moment that denied United a chance back in the game turned the tie.
Fulham went down to nine men after two straight red cards to their players, Willian and Mitrovic, as well as their manager Marco Silva. Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty and sooner after Marcel Sabitzer scored the winner with a flick, which was his first Manchester United goal since joining in the winter. Bruno completed the result with a third goal as Manchester United won 3-1.
The Red Devils manager, Erik Ten Hag will be delighted with the win as club actions take a break for the international window. Several stars will be off to join their national teammates for the next two weeks before returning to club actions as they face Brighton in the FA Cup semifinal.
