Manchester United have been looking for Marcus Rashorfd's partner in attack all summer, as the manager has reported that it is one of the positions most in need of strengthening, so once the signing of André Onana becomes official, the club will put all their attention to cover that position.
The player that was being talked about a lot during the week would have been Rasmus Hojlund, the Atalanta striker, was one of Ten Hag's main targets, however, these days the situation has become a bit complicated for the club, because the price the Italian club is asking for the player is too high and even though he was an excellent option for Ten Hag's scheme, his signing seems that it is not going to be completed.
So the Red Devils could reopen interest in Harry Kane, as it has been known since the start of the transfer window that the British striker was the manager's number one choice and although there was interest from both sides, Spurs stood in the way of negotiations, asking United to cease any interest in signing the player as Tottenham planned to keep him.
So Ten Hag's idea would be to hold out for another year with just one striker, as Harry Kane is out of contract with Spurs for next season, which could leave him free to sign for the club or sign a striker this summer who would not represent too much of a financial investment, as United cannot spend much on players due to their limited budget.
The English striker at almost 30 years of age, is one of the best players in the world, for that reason there are not many clubs that can afford to pay its value, at least Manchester United is not able, almost all his career has been spent at Tottenham and not being able to get a title would be one of the reasons why Kane would leave the London team, so the red devils would have to take advantage and try to sign him in 2024.
