Erik Ten Hag still has some targets in mind to reinforce the team just before the transfer market closes, the club according to the coach still needs some players to have more depth in the positions of the squad and thus be able to compete for all the trophies that will be available during this season.

One of the positions that has been talked about the most is defence, due to the imminent departure of Harry Maguire, which, although it has not been confirmed, is a matter of time before it is confirmed, as West Ham have already agreed everything with both the player and the club, so the main focus for Ten Hag would be to look for a replacement for the defender.

The board has not wasted time and there are already several names on the list as possibilities, one of them is Benjamin Pavard, the French defender had appeared as one of the serious candidates to be hired, both parties were very interested in making the transfer a reality as the player had already informed Bayern Munich that he would not renew with them.

For that reason the red devils during last week, unveiled an offer for the defender that hovered between 25 million euros, however, the Bavarian club expected at least 35 million euros, so the proposal was rejected, this left the coach in a compromising situation as he hoped to sign Pavard as soon as possible to let Maguire leave, but now the transfer looks even more complicated.

Bayern would not let the defender go

Benjamin Pavard has openly shown his intention of wanting to join Manchester United, as he considers it a good option to continue his career, however, Bayern Munich after having rejected the first offer for the player could refuse to receive another, as one of the objectives could not be realized, so if the French defender left would be left without options in the defense, thus the Bavarian club is no longer willing to sell Pavard.
