This Sunday Manchester United will start the new season when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford in match day one. Nevertheless, we have only seen three signings arriving this summer, and at the moment, it doesn’t look like Erik Ten Hag has assemble a better team than last year’s squad, which performed very poorly.

ESPN journalist, Rob Dawson informed that the club is looking to sell some players before making new signings, as they are still confident that Frenkie De Jong will eventually accept the offer. This does not mean that Erik Ten Hag isn’t already looking for new transfer targets. Dawson says that they want a forward, a right-back and a back-up goalkeeper.

This means that neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka nor Diogo Dalot have impressed the Dutchman enough to be the starting right-back at United. A forward is much needed after the exit of Edinson Cavani and all of the uncertainty around Cristiano Ronaldo and his future. As of right now, Anthony Martial is the only back-up striker for Ronaldo, and he tends to have ups and downs.

Lastly, a back-up goalkeeper is on the lookout after the exit of Dean Hendeson, who will be playing for the newly promoted Nottingham Forest on a season loan deal as he wanted to play every week. Sadly, ‘Deano’ has made improper comments about United in recent days, so he may never come back. That’s why the club will be looking for an experienced Premier League goalie that can alternate with David De Gea.

Manchester United need to strengthen the squad

The season starts this weekend, so Manchester United need to hurry up and bring world-class players that can improve the quality of the team. They also need to get Ronaldo’s head back to the game. That way the environment in the dressing room will be normal again.
