One of the big moments that all Manchester United fans were waiting for was the debut of André Onana as a new player of the club, during the last week the goalkeeper would fly to New York to join his teammates and have some participation in this tour of the United States.

During the first game against Arsenal, the goalkeeper could not be included in the squad as he had only been with the team for a couple of days, although during the whole week he was training alongside the rest of the team, but at no time was it announced when he could have his debut; it was not until hours before that the club would mention that Onana would take part in the game against Real Madrid.

During the match the Cameroonian goalkeeper was able to have some good performances that saved United, although he could not do much about it because in the end the club ended up losing by two goals, which although they were not Onana's fault, they are marked in the statistics as that in his debut he could not get the victory.

Undoubtedly this match will serve the manager to adjust certain issues that the team has been doing wrong, being a pre-season game is not given so much weight to errors, but definitely United can not afford to have this kind of performance once the Premier League begins, which is getting closer.

Ten Hag's comments

After the game the United manager came out to talk about the tough game they had and also had a word for André Onana's debut, saying: "When you play against Real Madrid you concede chances because they are a very good team. But overall, (he played) very well. He was there when we conceded chances and I think everyone saw that. He made a good debut. There is no doubt he will improve as the games go on and will be a key part of Ten Hag's project.
