Manchester United still have plans to continue strengthening, the board are looking to take advantage of the last two weeks left in the transfer window to begin negotiations with players who have been in the spotlight and for whom there have been several rumours, and the coach hopes to have them soon so that they can start to adapt to the system of play.

One of the players who has been in the spotlight recently has been the defender Benjamin Pavard, in a matter of a week there have been several updates about his case, as he has made it clear that he does not want to continue with Bayern Munich, while his coach, Thomas Tuchel has told the media that he has not received any complaint from the defender, so he ended up saying that he will remain a player of the Bavarian club for this season.

What is known at the moment is that Erik Ten Hag wants to sign Pavard anyway, as he is already guaranteed a leading role once he joins the club, and the Frenchman has been attracted by the ambition of the project and has shown great interest in coming to Old Trafford where he has openly commented that he would like to continue his football career.

However, there is a situation that has held up the transfer and now looks unlikely to become a reality, as the board could not pay him the £15m that Harry Maguire was demanding as compensation to leave the club, so his move to West Ham has fallen through.

Ten Hag will not be able to bring in Pavard

Due to the situation of Harry Maguire's transfer to West Ham, it looks difficult for Manchester United to pay the more than 30 million euros demanded by Bayern Munich for Benjamin Pavard; the Red Devils' board has not been able to make significant sales that would allow them to increase the budget, so now they will have to wait for another club to be interested in the British defender before they can start making some moves.
