Erik Ten Hag is looking for ways to continue signing players as he prepares for the start of pre-season and then the Premier League, so the manager is still looking for the key pieces he needs to complete his squad.
Last season under Ten Hag, Manchester United was able to achieve good results, although only won the Carabao Cup, the good taste of mouth that left the Dutch manager in his first season, could be a good indication of what is coming this year; the Red Devils will return to the biggest competition in Europe, so they need players who are up to the demands.
United have already made their first signing last week, bringing in a player who has already won the Champions League, Mason Mount, but that has not been enough for Ten Hag, who is looking to strengthen other positions on the pitch, such as goalkeeper and striker; although he already has Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund as his likely signings for their respective positions, there is another player still to sign.
With the departure of De Gea and the possible sale of Dean Henderson, Manchester United are considering signing a second goalkeeper to replace Onana, and the manager has opted for Japanese keeper Zion Suzuki, who is currently playing for Urawa Red Diamonds in his home league.
Manchester United are looking for a young goalkeeper who can adapt to the ball handling system Ten Hag likes, which is why 20-year-old Suzuki is one of the coach's main options. In addition, his value of €5 million makes him a very attractive deal for the club, who see the Japanese goalkeeper as a project for the future.
