Manchester United are still making moves despite the Premier League transfer window ending on Friday 1 September, but with other European leagues still having the opportunity to add players, there are still rumours about possible departures that the Red Devils could have in the coming weeks in an attempt to reduce the transfer list that was presented by the manager at the beginning of the summer.
However, one of the players who will not be leaving for this season despite all the drama surrounding him is Harry Maguire, as we remember there was a point in the summer where everything pointed to the defender leaving the club permanently as both parties agreed that going their separate ways was the best thing to do in the tense situation they found themselves in.
This was due to the actions taken by Erik Ten Hag in the pre-season, where he relegated the Briton to the bench as well as taking away the captaincy and confirming Bruno Fernandes as the new captain of the team for the rest of the season, so this kind of situation began to create a rift in the relationship between the coach and the player.
Even so, the Dutch manager decided not to let Maguire go after in the last moments of the transfer window both West Ham and Fulham had shown interest in making a definitive offer, but due to the injuries that the club had suffered during the first weeks of the tournament, the decision was taken that it would be best to keep the player in the squad.
This decision to keep Harry Maguire at Old Trafford undoubtedly surprised many fans who already saw him out of the club, after everything that had happened during the summer, however, now that the decision has been made the defender will have one last chance to prove his experience and value within the team, as according to reports from Fabrizio Romano, the Briton is willing to fight for a starting place so he will train hard to achieve his goal.
