Sheikh Jassim Al Thani has been tipped as one of the favourites to become the new owner of Manchester United for some weeks now, the offer he has put on the table and the level of commitment he has to the club may end up swaying the Glazer's in his favour.
The club is already desperate for a decision to be made, after a long 8 months since the announcement of the sale of the club, the fans and the whole team have been waiting to see what will happen; during this period of time there have been critical issues such as the protest a week ago that took place at Old Trafford, this desperation at United has made Sheikh Jassim speak out to calm the fans down a little.
"We will make Manchester United the best in the world again. We will invest in the stadium, the community and the facilities. No debt and we will take nothing out of the club." That was the recent promise the Sheikh Jassim reportedly made recently, so one can speculate that the sale of the club is very close to being finalised.
The sheikh's idea remains the same from the start, the 6.5 billion he has put on offer is not only to buy the team, but also to improve the club's facilities and players; the new era of Manchester United may be about to begin.
Billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is the other contender to buy Manchester United, however, he has lagged far behind his rival's new bid, as Ratcliffe has already made an offer for the club, but has not presented a vision like the Sheikh's and that is what could decide who will be the new owner of the club.
