Days after the winter window was shut, Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag had some unexpected words to say about club captain, Harry Maguire. The Red Devils manager was surprisingly full of praises for the English center-back, which stunned fans.

Harry Maguire has had a roller-coaster first season under the Dutch manager as he fell down the pecking order very early into Ten Hag's managerial reign at the club. It seemed like his time at the club was truly over till Ten Hag's comments which signaled a possible turnaround for him.

Maguire has gradually gotten more involved in recent months and his public decision to back Ten Hag's tactical selections seemed to have gotten him back into the thick of the action for the Red Devils. This is coupled with his decision to turn down the January offer that came in for him.

Speaking ahead of the Carabao Cup final, Harry Maguire shared his dream for Manchester United. He said 'it's a huge honour to a captain of this football club. A real privilege. Ever since I've been made captain it's been a dream to lift my first trophy for this football club.'
