The month of September was already scheduled to have a week of international FIFA days, in addition to the sensitive events of Queen Elizabeth II. The month has been this way, even when the team was on a winning streak in the Premier League, and will not play in the Premier League until October.

Focusing on the domestic competition is where the team looks set to undergo another short pre-season, having last played in the Premier League on 4 September where Manchester United beat tournament leaders Arsenal from London. The team must not lose their way but above all, what must not happen is that they must not drop the pace that has seen them string together four consecutive league wins.
On 2 October, Man Utd visit the Etihad to play the Manchester derby after the aforementioned FIFA day off, which represents an important test for the Red Devils' title aspirations. It will undoubtedly be a game full of strategy where the Citizens will be favourites to win the game.
