The last season has been full of ups and downs for Manchester United, because on the one hand the team managed to get into the next edition of the Champions League and won a trophy, the Carabao Cup, but on the other hand they lost the FA Cup final against Manchester City and there was also a lot of drama in the middle of the season with the abrupt departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Given the situation between Erik ten Hag and Ronaldo, the team seemed to be divided, but thanks to the good team management of the Dutch coach, the Red Devils achieved a good end to the season, although there were moments of uncertainty in the middle of the season.
In order to calm the situation at the end of 2022, the Manchester United board decided to look for new players in the winter transfer market and signed two players they thought could help solve the shortcomings of the squad. To replace Ronaldo, they signed Wout Weghorst, who did not arrive with high expectations.
Who did was Marcel Sabitzer, the 29-year-old Austrian midfielder from FC Bayern, who arrived on loan at Old Trafford. Sabitzer, who spent his best years at Leipzig, was a signing that excited the fans as most thought he could bring balance to United's midfield alongside Casemiro, but expectations were too high for what he performed.
Marcel Sabitzer, who was worth up to 42 million euros, has now been devalued due to his limited playing time at Old Trafford. Now, Sabitzer is valued at 20 million and Manchester United has no intention of negotiating a permanent purchase so he will have to return to FC Bayern, however it is said that the German club is not very happy with him either so they will look to sell him this summer.
