Cristiano Ronaldo has been fired by Manchester United following a power play move at the club.

It has been praised, nostalgia, shock, and much more emotion experience for Manchester United fans following the club's decision about their star play. It seemed like the Ronaldo story was finally fading out of media space but United pulled it back up with their official reaction.

The club in their official statement stated that they have mutually terminated Cristiano Ronaldo's contract, which was to last the remainder of this season after much deliberation and vetting of options available at hand were checked.

The Old Trafford owners came under heavy criticism and accusation from the Portuguese international over their lack of ambition for the club. He went further to question their mismanagement of the club's growth by high a director of football as the replacement manager to Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

His criticism also hit current Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag who was reported furious at his action. These series of comments provide the United board the opportunity to checkmate his disrespect to them by terminating his contract.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

United will be delighted to close his chapter quickly at this early stage of the Ten Hag's era to allow a smooth transition in the team. His early exit also helps the club save about 16 million euros in wages which can now be diverted into other areas in the club. Ronaldo will be looking to get Portugal off to a winning start in Qatar, at possibly his last world cup competition.
