Now it has been reported that the UK and Ireland hold together the greatest chance to host the Euro of 2028, but that does not mean that Old Trafford would receive any matches.
The fact is that right now it seems that the UK together with Ireland are ready to become the official hosts of the Euro competition in 2028, now that the rival Turkey has official withdrew their bid, and now that they have handed the list of stadiums, it seems as a surprise that Old Trafford won't receive any games of the competition at all.
While it is obvious that Old Trafford is one of the most important stadiums in the UK, it seems that the main reason that it has been left out of the list is due to the current state of the stadium and the several areas of reparations or upgrade that are yet to be attended, meaning that they are not even going to considere it for the next season.
The state of Old Trafford has been a concern for the fans in the past few years, and with the Glazers leaving the club in some serious debt it seems that the issues are not going to get solved or that they are even a priority for the current owners of the team, meaning that Old Trafford is officially out of the list unless something drastical changes.
The only thing that could put Old Trafford back on the list is if the Sheikh Jassim arrives to the team, because he reported that he is more than ready to invest a total of 1 billion euros just to make sure that Old Trafford becomes the best stadium not only in the UK but in the world, until then things remain the same.
