Erik Ten Hag is still looking to strengthen the team for the start of the Premier League, for that reason he is still looking for the best players available, with the budget he has, although it has not been easy negotiations for the players he has tried to sign, it could be said that the coach is about to get his second acquisition of the summer.

Manchester United have several positions they need to fill and without doubt goalkeeper is the main one at the moment; after the departure of David de Gea after 12 years at Old Trafford, one of the main reasons for his departure would have been that the style of play that the Spanish goalkeeper had was not to the manager's liking, so, despite having had a good season, the time had come to part ways.

Ten Hag began to look for his possible replacement and in André Onana he would find the goalkeeper he was looking for; as has already been commented on a few occasions, the tactical scheme that the coach manages is very much in line with Onana's type of play, as his ball handling qualities, the fact that he feels comfortable playing with his feet and the way he comes out of defence, is something that fits very well with the Dutchman's idea.

Erik Ten Hag hopes that with Onana's arrival at United, he can have a transformative impact on the team, like Ederson and Allison did in their respective teams, so the manager would try after the Cameroonian goalkeeper's arrival to emulate the success Liverpool and Manchester City have had in goal.

Statistics showing Onana is a better goalkeeper

Ederson and Allison are two of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, their way of playing has changed the game of their coaches, however, Onana has better statistics than both Brazilian goalkeepers, as in the percentage of pass accuracy has 81.3% and in short passes (between 5 to 15 yards) 100% effectiveness, while the Brazilians had a lower percentage, so Erik Ten Hag would feel very comfortable with the imminent arrival of Onana.
