Manchester United have already been preparing for the pre-season tour of the United States, the team has been meeting throughout the week first in New York and then in San Diego for a series of training sessions; this is an opportunity for the club's less experienced players and new signings to showcase themselves so that the manager can consider them for the season.

However, not all players travelled with the squad to Oslo and Scotland for the first matches of this pre-season, with French striker Anthony Martial reportedly staying in Manchester for the first two warm-up games after the manager decided not to call him up, which has clearly raised further doubts for the player, as there has been speculation that his future at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.

The striker has spent the last two years between United and the 21/22 season on loan at Sevilla and now that he is back at the club, it is expected that his departure will take place before the end of the summer, with the reason that he would not fit into Erik Ten Hag's plans, so the club would begin to move the situation to give an early exit to the player and that could benefit both parties.

Another reason why Martial would be close to leaving would be because of his contract, which expires until next year, which would mean the last chance for United to sell him and make a financial gain, which would suit the manager well with his idea of continuing to bring in new signings to the club.

Martial's future

Although there have been many rumours in recent days about Anthony Martial's situation, what can be said is that the club is still planning to sell him, even though he is coming back from injury and was added to the training squad during the week, Ten Hag does not plan to have him in the squad for matches, so over the next few weeks they could be reviewing possible destinations for the striker.
