The David de Gea era at Manchester United has come to an end, his departure after 12 years has left many fans questioning whether it was a good decision, while others feel that the arrival of a new goalkeeper could help the team's hopes of winning new trophies.
It is true that a generational change has been looking for some years now, with the departure of players such as David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were in one of the club's golden eras when we were not only the kings of the Premier League, but the kings of Europe, however, since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson the club's history has been changing and now our neighbours have been dominating the domestic competition.
Since Ferguson's departure in the 2013 season, many players who were coached by him have been leaving the club for various reasons; the only two players who had remained until this point were David de Gea and defender Phil Jones, but this summer after their contracts expired, they both had to say goodbye to Old Trafford.
This undoubtedly brings with it a moment of nostalgia, as the departure of these players only signals the end of an era that all Manchester United fans enjoyed and it is difficult to imagine what the future holds for the club, what we can be sure of is that if Ten Hag continues to show what he is capable of, we could probably return to winning titles like we did under Sir Alex Ferguson.
During this season the team managed to win their last Premier League title, players like Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia, Van Persie, among others were still with the red devils, during that campaign the team managed to make 89 points and only had 5 defeats during the whole tournament, besides that the Dutchman Robin Van Persie was the top scorer of the Premier League with 26 goals, at the end of the season, Sir Alex Ferguson would say goodbye after 26 seasons with the club, which would be the beginning of the end for United
