Erik Ten Hag is already well aware of the players he wants as new reinforcements for the start of the season; with his first wish fulfilled by bringing in Mason Mount, the manager will continue to look for players to help him cover certain weak areas of the pitch.
One of the positions that Ten Hag has paid most attention to this summer has been striker, Manchester United have not had a good time with the striker issue since the departure of Wayne Rooney in 2017, there is no doubt that the British striker marked an era in the position by becoming the club's top scorer with 253 goals, since his departure the red devils have struggled to find an attacker who can put up good numbers.
While Rashford had a great season last season, scoring 30 goals, Ten Hag believes that an attacking partner could be of great help to his scheme of play, which is why he has been approached by Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, the club has already had several talks with the Dane and the player is reportedly keen to come to Old Trafford.
During those talks, the Red Devils have enquired about Hojlund's value and have made an initial offer of around £40m, however, Atalanta would have thought that was too low compared to the player's real value of around £55-60m, so Ten Hag would have to look for new alternatives to sign him.
Manchester United have already put their first offer on the table for the Danish striker, in addition to that the coach would have thought of two options that would help him to sign Hojlund; the first would have come out a few days ago when it was rumoured that Mason Greenwood could go as an exchange to Atalanta, however, now Amad Diallo would be added as part of the negotiations.
