As we all know Manchester United are looking to strengthen the attacking and goalkeeper positions, manager Erik Ten Hag believes that adding a player in each of those two positions could help the team improve ahead of next season.

This hurry to find new players is due to the fact that United would be playing in all competitions, after having a good season with the club, Ten Hag would be aware that he must improve if he wants to win all the trophies available, for that reason the Dutch tactician would have already thought about the companion of Marcus Rashford in attack.

One of Ten Hag's choices is FC Porto striker and Iranian international Mehdi Taremi, who has had an excellent season, as well as being the top scorer in the Portuguese league. The club have had their eye on the Irani striker for some time, with the coach praising him for his qualities.

Although United are still unsure who will partner Rashford up front, Mehdi Taremi would be the obvious choice as players such as Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund have a very high value that the club cannot afford to pay for a single position, so the arrival of an effective striker like the Iranian, who is also cheap, would be the ideal decision for the team.

Mehdi Taremi and Marcus Rashford comparison

Both players had a great 22/23 season, in which they were the top scorers for their respective teams, now with Mehdi Taremi possibly joining United, we could see with their stats how much the club would benefit; the numbers of both players are very similar, while Rashford scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists, Taremi only had 1 goal and 3 assists more than Marcus Rashford, this shows the similarity in their game and that they could pair well in the front line.
