Erik Ten Hag still has in mind to make some moves before the transfer window closes, as he recognizes that the club still needs the arrival of certain players that could help the team's performance, as they have recently suffered many injuries that have depleted the squad and have made the coach have to look for alternatives that allow him to continue with the same aspirations towards the title.
It is clear that the Manchester United board is now looking for players who can specifically cover certain positions on the pitch, therefore, one of the main ones that would be close to being reinforced would be left-back and although before Luke Shaw's injury it was not one of the team's priorities, they have been able to come up with good options that could benefit the squad in a good way.
One of those alternatives that has remained at the forefront has been Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella, for whom the Red Devils began to ask immediately because his way of playing fits very well with Ten Hag's system of play, in this way the club knew that they did not have much time to negotiate, so they began to have talks with the Blues to close the transfer as soon as possible.
Ten Hag has commented that he only wants a short-term replacement, so the transfer for the Spaniard would be on loan, however, the London club is asking for around £7 million to send the player on loan, but also specified it should be with an option to buy, so it is expected that Marc Cucurella will be arriving at Old Trafford in the next few hours.
The British defender suffered an injury in training before the game against Nottingham Forest last week, the medical report indicated that it was a muscular problem that would keep him out for at least 2 months, this meant that Ten Hag had to look for a replacement for him as the reserve player in the squad for that position is also injured.
