Manchester United and Barcelona are interested in the same player

As it has been reported in the last couple of weeks, Manchester United and Erik ten Hag are desperate to sign some new players after their awful start of the season where they have lost their first two games including a 4-0 defeat away at Brentford which positions them at the bottom of the Premier League table.

One of the areas the Dutch manager is trying to improve as soon as possible is the right-back position. Ten Hag is not impressed by Aaron Wan-Bissaka and is willing to let him go on a permanent transfer. At this moment, only Crystal Palace has shown interest in buying him back and could make a bid of £10 million.

This would leave Diogo Dalot as the only option on the right-hand side of the defense, so the former Ajax coach is looking for someone who can compete with the Portuguese man for a place in the starting eleven. The journalist adds that Lyon was planning to extend the young player’s contract, but could be open to selling him if a good bid is presented.

An investment for the future

Malo Gusto made his senior debut with Lyon in the 2020-2021 season where he only played two matches. However, he just had an outstanding campaign becoming a regular with his team and playing 37 games. The 19-year-old French full-back made four assists this past season and is now one of the most promising young prospects in Ligue 1.
