The Spanish goalkeeper has had some outstanding years in net for Man Utd, over more than a decade he has performed well but it seems that he would not fit into the plans of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, who is looking to sign one of the most in-demand goalkeepers in European football.

The manager arrived with the full support of the institution's management, so they are confident in the project he wants to implement. The team has not won the Premier League for ten seasons, which is worrying for the most important and mediatic team in England.

David de Gea is one of the players who were singled out for underperformance last year, conceding 57 goals in 38 games. The worst figure in his career defending the Red Devils' goal, he became one of the teams they conceded the most goals to, many times he was asked to be replaced and that may be the case at the end of the current season.

According to The Sun Football, Atletico Madrid's 29-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak is the coach's choice to try and convince him to sign for Man Utd. Atleti's goalkeeper is one of the best in the world at the moment, and has been solid in goal for the Spanish side for a number of years.

Jan Oblak to replace David de Gea after more than a decade

David de Gea has a contract until 2023 with an option to renew in 2024, it will be the team's decision to renew him for another year, or as the information leaked about this change of goalkeepers would happen in the summer. The Old Trafford offices are confident in Oblak's work, which is why they will look for him in the summer.
