A week ago the signing of André Onana was announced, through a small press conference Manchester United announced the second signing of the season, the Cameroonian goalkeeper had been wanted by the team since the transfer window opened and after so many efforts, they were finally able to sign him.

As we already know the story, Erik Ten Hag from the beginning had in mind to bring a new goalkeeper to the club, as he would have considered that David de Gea's time in goal should have come to an end and so it was, as the Red Devils could not reach an agreement with the Spanish goalkeeper due to the salary issue, thus De Gea became a free agent on July 1 and would say goodbye to the fans after twelve years of career, in an emotional message via social networks.

From that moment United began the search for André Onana, who was always the number one option to cover the Spanish goalkeeper's departure; after several weeks of talks and meetings in Holland, the club was able to close the deal for around 60 million pounds on a five-year contract; this secures Onana for the following seasons.

There is no doubt that the arrival of Onana made a big impact not only on the team but also on the fans who have placed their hopes in the player, as he has shown enormous quality, as well as adapting to the system of play that Ten Hag has in mind, so it is expected that he will give results from the first moment.

Onana's pre-season debut

André Onana did not disappoint in his debut with Manchester United, the Cameroonian goalkeeper saw the opportunity to play 90 minutes in the fifth game of the preseason in which they faced Real Madrid, although the red devils ended up losing the match, Onana's statistics show that he is ready to shine with United, as during the match he had: 3 saves, 51 touches, 39 complete passes and a 95. 1% passing accuracy; this is certainly what Ten Hag wanted to see in a goalkeeper who felt like he had the ball at his feet and Onana showed it.
