The Euros 2024 qualifiers game had some really bad moments, now that there where some news that some fans suffered an attack and caused for the game to be suspended.
Victor Lindelof was a part of the Sweden National team that where on the Belgian capital to face a game of the Euro 2024, when two swedish people where shot dead in the city, in what it is suspected to be a terrorist attack, and that has also forced for the game to be called off at half time when the players from both teams found out about the news.
Victor Lindelof said the following, “I talked to the other players in the team about how they felt, and then I felt that I wanted to talk to the Belgian players. I explained how we looked at the situation. We were very clear that we did not want to continue playing and the Belgian players were completely on board with that.”
“There are players who have family and friends there, and we wanted to take care of our supporters. Those who had family or friends here wanted to try to get in touch with those people directly so that they where well. People got worried but our security team explained it very well. We are safe here." showing the feelings of the players that also lived part of the situation.
Victor Lindelof ended by saying “It is terrible. I do not really know what to say about that. Our supporters mean a lot to us and we want them to be well and safe.” and now it has been reported that the game might not get resumed in the next days and they will try to wait and see what the best option is for the fans and for the teams.
It seems that Victor Lindelof took the role as the captain, and the fact is that it was a really sad situation for the fans and for the players that do not want for those kind of things to happen to the fans that supports them.
