David de Gea, probably one of the best goalkeepers Manchester United has ever had, unfortunately his story with the club could be coming to its final chapters and although there are many versions of what happened, only one is the one that has made the most sense.

Over the summer, rumours of a new goalkeeper for the club grew, players began to emerge as possible candidates to take De Gea's place, however, nothing had materialised and so the weeks continued to pass and there would be no new update.

Until Erik Ten Hag came out to say that they were no longer looking for any goalkeeper, that their main objective was to renew De Gea, so as not to take up the budget money in that position, but after a salary of 275 thousand pounds had been agreed and the Spanish goalkeeper had already signed, the club backed out justifying that the terms of the contract were no longer valid, so if he wanted to continue with United he would have to lower his salary further.

Given this situation, the Spanish goalkeeper was left as a free agent to sign with the team of his choice, offers from Arabia and Turkey have reached the goalkeeper, who is looking to clarify his football future soon; on the other hand, Ten Hag's decision to have a new goalkeeper would have been the reason why United did not renew David de Gea.

Ten Hag's options to replace De Gea

After the departure of the Spanish goalkeeper, Ten Hag has been looking for the goalkeeper who can replace him, days ago he would have had closer talks with André Onana, who is his main target and for whom he offered Inter Milan £40 million, however, due to the high price of the player, the Dutch coach would have to look for new alternatives like Justin Bijlow and Kevin Trapp would be as a second option.
