The Manchester United takeover saga is probably nowhere near over and as fans wait to find out which of the two leading candidates will take over the club, Sheikh Jassim Al Thani or Jim Ratcliffe, both of whom have already put their bids on the table pending a decision from the Glazers.

There is no doubt that the Qatari sheikh is one of the favourites to become the new owner of Manchester United, although over the last few days news has been coming out that could affect his position, for example the doubt that the American family have about the financing of their offer, as we remember Jassim's proposal is for approximately 6,000 billion, which would pay the debt that the club has, as well as an economic way to bring in the best reinforcements regardless of the price.

This is something that all fans are interested in, because according to some speculation, the arrival of the Qatari group at Old Trafford could include the arrival of Neymar to the team, as it would be one of the destinations that would interest the Brazilian star the most, but besides him, there would be another legend of the club that would jump on the ship of the Sheikh and could help him in his transition with the club.

According to reports close to the club, Eric Cantona, could have a behind-the-scenes position that could help the Sheikh with the running of the team; in fact, during an interview with the former United player, he revealed that last year the club had turned down his offer to return as "president of football", so his relationship with the Glazers is not the best and in the event of a successful takeover of United, Cantona could return in some form.

Cantona's United career

During his 5 seasons at Old Trafford, Eric Cantona was one of the best players at the time, his 185 appearances, 82 goals and 62 assists would make him a United legend, however, he surprisingly decided to retire from football at the age of 30, leaving fans wanting to continue watching him in the team.
