Manchester United has enjoyed having the best players available, the history of the club is vast, as are the players who have played at Old Trafford, some of whom have become legends who will always be in the minds of the fans for their great performances for the club and for winning titles.

That was the case of Eric Cantona, the French striker has been one of the best players to have ever played at Old Trafford, as well as being one of the most mediatic; his arrival in the 92 season was the start of his great career with United; the way he played, his skills and the way he scored goals is something we will always remember about the Frenchman, who also in 5 seasons was able to win 4 Premier League titles.

However, one of the most iconic moments in his career will always be that game against Crystal Palace, when in front of the cameras and in the middle of the game, he kicked an opposing fan who had been insulting him throughout the game; there is no doubt that the way he was on and off the pitch made him one of the greatest in history.

He retired on a high

Cantona was playing the 96/97 season with Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson had already convinced him a couple of years earlier not to hang up his boots because of the importance he had in the club, however, a day after winning the Premier League title, The French striker took a flight to leave England without commenting, until a few days later he said it was time to retire, "I have reached the pinnacle of my career," said Eric Cantona, who at 31 years of age and surprisingly said goodbye to football.
