It has been over six months since Cristiano Ronaldo was released by Manchester United, in a situation that not many expected, Erik Ten Hag would not tempt his heart to get rid of one of the best players in history, however, after his departure, the Portuguese star still has a great relationship with several of the players at the club and is very close to what happened around them.
As we all know, since Ten Hag's arrival at United, he has been trying to do a complete rebuild, bringing in the players he has been targeting and getting rid of those who no longer fit into his plans or who don't fit in with the manager's ideas, which is why one of the moves that paralysed the world was the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Many fans expected that after signing for the club in the 21/22 season, the Portuguese striker would retire at Old Trafford as one of the team's top idols, however, things happened in a totally different way and now CR7 is at Al-Nassr, being one of the highest paid players in the world.
Although the relationship between Ten Hag and Ronaldo did not end in the best way, the Portuguese still continues to show his support for the club and his teammates, specifically Diogo Dalot who has gone through a somewhat complicated preseason, and his future with the team could be affected after the coach's decision for the start of the Premier League.
The Portuguese defender has not had one of the best pre-seasons, in addition to that he has had the pressure of being "fighting" with Wan Bissaka for a starting place in the squad and that Ten Hag would have leaned towards the English defender, even so, Cristiano Ronaldo would have spoken to Dalot to show his unconditional support and encourage him to demonstrate his potential with effort and discipline. So only in that way could the Portuguese have a chance of staying at United.
