David de Gea is set to renew his contract for the following season, but they are still looking for a player that can bring some competition for the goal, and it seems that the current option is older than De Gea.

The spanish goalkeeper for Manchester United is currently 31 years old, and he is set to renew his contract for at least another year, but it seems that they are currently looking to sign a player that can compete for them in the next season for the position, but the latest rumours are pointing to a player that currently has 34 years.

The player is Yann Sommer, he currently plays for Bayern Munich, and it seems that he might be looking to leave the team, in his contract he decided to include a clause that would let him go out of the team in case that Neuer returns, an everything right now points to the fact that he will do that, and with that Sommer is looking for another team.

Erik ten Hag and the team believes that he could be the answer for Manchester United goal keeper problems, they believe that with the experience that Sommer has with the clubs and of course in the international football could really add up to bring in a player that could compete right away with David de Gea for the position.

Yann Sommer problem

The main problem with that option seems to the fact that in case he arrives to the team he could only compete for the team no more than 2 years in one of the best case scenarios, and then the red devils would be left with the same problem, they would need to sign another keeper.
