It is no surprise to learn that Manchester United have wanted to get rid of Harry Maguire for some time now, although he has not been a fan favourite since his arrival at the club, his performances and mistakes have made the difference for the team to lose important games.
Erik Ten Hag is reportedly already on the transfer list for this transfer window, the first on the list is the British defender, as the manager is looking to recoup some of the money invested in the player since his arrival at the club in the 19/20 season from Leicester City; at that time Maguire was worth 50 million, but United ended up paying 87 million for the player.
To date Maguire has not performed as expected and with the addition of Lisandro Martinez and Varane in defence, it looks difficult for him to get game time, although according to media close to the player, he would be willing to play a lesser role this season in order not to leave the club.
Therefore, after 4 seasons, the money that the team paid out is seen as another failed investment for Man Utd, who now have the option to keep him or sell him, as there are already several teams interested in buying the defender and paying the 20 million of his value.
In this transfer market Manchester United, would be looking to get rid of Harry Maguire, although no official offers have arrived for the player, there are several teams that are interested in acquiring the defender, one of those teams that recently approached United to ask about Maguire, was West Ham, who apparently would be willing to pay the 20 million that the club demands for his transfer, so the departure of Maguire looks closely.
