Manchester United have been searching all summer for a striker who could solve the club's attacking problems from last season, now that Rasmus Hojlund has been unveiled as a new signing, he is expected to be the solution in attack and can perform from the word go, however, the Danish striker was not Ten Hag's first choice.

At the beginning of the summer, the manager made known the essential positions that had to be reinforced so that the club could have a chance to compete for titles this season, one of them was the attack, because even though Marcus Rashford has had an excellent campaign scoring 30 goals in all competitions, Ten Hag was clear that the Englishman's position was not that of a centre forward, so he had to sign one.

Harry Kane was one of the first options of the Red Devils, because when they found out that the striker was only a year away from finishing his contract with Spurs, it was expected that they would start negotiations, however, after some talks, the London team decided to close any kind of communication, as well as demanding United to cease their intentions to sign the Briton.

This was a blow for Ten Hag, who has always been an outspoken admirer of Kane and had hoped to get the chance to sign him, as the striker has also reportedly expressed an interest in leaving Tottenham in search of a club that would allow him to win titles, having failed to win any in his career.

Spurs continue to reject offers

After Manchester United realised that it was very difficult to sign Harry Kane, they decided to go for other options that also suited their style; even so, several teams continued to push for the transfer of the striker and now that Bayern Munich made an offer of 100 million euros and was rejected, it is more than evident that Spurs will not let Kane go.
