The sale of Manchester United has not been finalized and it seems that there is no estimated date for the Glazers to make a decision and announce the new owner of the team. This has left Erik ten Hag unable to make any signings, as he still does not know how much money he will be able to spend this summer and this has led to other teams poaching the Dutch tactician's top targets.
Erik ten Hag initially made Harry Kane the top priority to strengthen the squad, even asking the management to "show ambition" in signing the 29-year-old delenatero who scored 30 goals last season in the Premier League. However, Manchester United could not have imagined that Tottenham would make their captain non-transferable and his €100 million price tag was unaffordable for the Old Trafford board.
Erik ten Hag's second big target was Napoli's South Korean defender Kim Min Jae, who in the eyes of our coach was the ideal replacement for Harry Maguire. Apparently, Manchester United had even reached a personal agreement with the player, but budget uncertainty prevented them from making a formal offer to Napoli, which FC Bayern took advantage of to take the lead and now the German club seems to be very close to signing Kim Min Jae.
But that was not all, as ten Hag's other priority is to sign a new goalkeeper before the possible departure of David de Gea. In that sense, one of the names that most sounded to arrive at Old Trafford was that of David Raya, from Brentford. However, once again the lack of certainty in the Red Devils' budget allowed Tottenham to go ahead, and now Spurs are on the verge of signing the Spanish goalkeeper.
In recent days, 24-year-old English midfielder Declan Rice has been on Erik ten Hag's radar to strengthen the midfield. However, The Sun has reported that Erik ten Hag is "angry" at the lack of certainty regarding the club's purchase, as he believes it could end United's hopes of buying Rice. Declan Rice is also wanted by Manchester City and Arsenal.
