Manchester United fans will certainly remember their glorious reign under Sir Alex Ferguson's long managerial run at Manchester United that saw them numerous titles with superstars like Ruud van Nistelrooy, who's now head coach of PSV Eindhoven.
Van Nistelrooy made his move to Manchester United for a British record fee of 19 million euros in 2001 after his goalscoring record at PSV attracted the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson. He hit top form for Manchester United scoring 150 goals in just 219 games for the Red Devils.
The PSV manager had a great time in England winning the Premier League, FA Cup, Football League Cup, and FA Community Shield. He also won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award twice before making a switch to Real Madrid in 2006 after almost a five-year stint at the club.
But prior to his exit from Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy also played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo winning a couple of titles together. When asked recently who his favorite player is between Ronaldo and Messi, he wholeheartedly replied saying 'I always say Cristiano Ronaldo because I have a past with him.'
Van Nistelrooy went on to speak about his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. He said 'Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager I have played under for the longest time and when I look back, those five years, the way he managed the team, the players, the club, that's for me is the best.' This season Manchester United and Ten Hag tried to sign PSV Cody Gakpo but the deal didn't happen.
