The England striker is one of Manchester United's most important players and his recent performances have made him one of the key players Erik Ten Hag cannot afford to lose if they are to challenge for silverware this season.

Marcus Rashford's future is still undecided and although his contract expires next summer, United are desperate to secure one of their star players, who last season scored 30 goals in 56 games, one of the best performances of his career and led to him being named Player of the Season, so the club are keen to keep hold of him at all costs.

While there has been talk of the possibility of a new striker arriving at Old Trafford, Ten Hag's idea would be that he would be Rashford's partner and that the two could combine to solve the goalscoring issue that is one of the coach's main focuses; for that reason, the arrival of Hojlund, who is one of the favourites to sign for United, would not represent a danger to the British striker.

There is no doubt that Rashford's quality could allow him to play for almost any European team, so the loss of him to Manchester United would be a fatal blow to all the fans who have been following him since the academy and he has the potential to be even better; that is why the club should renew the striker as soon as possible.

PSG join the fight for Rashford

There have been some rumours that Paris Saint-Germain would be willing to sign Marcus Rashford, however, what would be true is that United would be more likely to renew the striker, as talks have been ongoing for some months now and it is expected that the club could offer the player a contract worth around £22 million, which would mean a salary of £375,000 a week to keep him at Old Trafford.
