Manchester United was surprisingly held to a full-time scoreless draw at Old Trafford by Southampton in their latest Premier League fixture, just days after they beat Spanish side, Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League knockout tie on the same turf.
The Red Devils started off brightly in front of their home crowd but were kept at bay by Southampton for the most part of the game until a game-changing moment that turned things around for both teams just before the first-half break at Old Trafford.
Casemiro received a red card for a bad tackle, which required the use of VAR to check the severity of the challenge, as the outcome meant an early show for the Brazilian midfielder. Fellow teammate Antony Santos was consoling him about the referee's decision.
Antony was seen saying a few words to Casemiro which got fans curious. Reports suggest that Antony had promised Casemiro that he would win the game for him after his sending-off as he consoled his national teammate. Sadly, the game ended with Manchester United settling for a scoreless draw.
Manchester United fans have been reacting to Antony's promise to Casemiro, with many pointing it out as a good gesture despite not getting the win in the end. Prior to the game, Antony has been in fine form for Manchester United following his world-class finish against Real Betis last Thursday
