Fans' reaction Lionel Messi gets crowned the best by FIFA

The most anticipated award ceremony, FIFA The Best, has finally taken place today as global football personalities make the trip to the highly-rated football award ceremony. Fans around the world close watch as football stars grace the awards event with their presence.

In a year in review that included numerous competitions like the UEFA Champions League, club league competitions, and the FIFA World Cup, the eligible voters made the pick for their favorite individual to win each of the respective categories on the night.

Lionel Messi was crowned the King once again as the best player in the world after a fantastic 2022 season where he won most notably the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Argentina. He won the award by getting the most vote.

Messi was followed by Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe of PSG to complete the top three. The Argentine was at the event in person to receive his award for outstanding performance and which was presented to him by the FIFA president.

Fans around the world followed the ceremony closely and have been given reactions to the announced winner.  There's an outpour of support and praise for Lionel Messi with some also disappointed that Karim Benzema didn't win the award after such an outstanding season. Meanwhile Manchester United will be back in action on Wednesday again West Ham.
