In the winter transfer market, Manchester United made three new additions to their current team to bolster their squad depth for the remainder of the season. Though they were limited financially by the ongoing takeover talks, the club moved in to secure targets via loan deals.

Jack Butland, Wout Weghorst, and Marcel Sabitzer were brought in on deals till the end of the season as they add more quality to Erik Ten Hag's options for the coming months. Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer have had the most run-ins of the three winter signings and are playing integral parts in Manchester United's current season ambitions.

Sabitzer's addition to the team came late in the winter window after Manchester United suffered a big blow to Christian Eriksen, who has been very dominant at the heart of United's midfield. With the Danish midfielder ruled out till May, United sprung into action to sign Sabitzer for Bayern Munich following his struggles with game time.

The Austrian midfielder was thrown straight into the thick of the action with a number of starting appearances for the club since he joined in winter. Marcel Sabitzer has been quite impressive to Manchester United with six appearances for the Red Devils already.

What has been the reaction to Sabitzer's performance?

United fans have thrown their support behind Sabitzer and his growing minutes in the team show Erik Ten Hag supports him as well. According to reports, the midfielder is very happy at United and is ready to stay on a permanent basis. The Red Devils will have to speak with Bayern to finalize any potential permanent deal for the 28-year-old.
