We are less than a week away from the start of the new Premier League season, in which our Manchester United aims to be one of the protagonist teams fighting for the title. To this end, the Old Trafford board has signed four players this summer and another one could still arrive.
The preseason has been an up and down affair, because although the team has closed its preparation for the upcoming campaign with three unbeaten games, the reality is that we also had three defeats. However, it is true that results during the preseason games are not the most important thing and Erik ten Hag knows this, as he has taken the opportunity to observe the players and determine the roles they will have for the start of the Premier League.
In that sense, it seems that the Dutch tactician has already defined most of his starting lineup to face Wolverhampton next Monday, August 14 at Old Trafford, however there are still a couple of positions to be defined and Erik ten Hag will have to hurry because there is not much time left to make that decision.
After the last pre-season game against Athletic, Erik ten Hag acknowledged that the team is heading in the right direction and that although there is still work to be done, everything seems to be on the right track. However, he admitted that he still does not know exactly which players will start in Manchester United's opener in the Premier League. "For next week [vs Wolves] there are still one or two positions with considerations of who will start," said ten Hag. These words have worried some fans, as they believe he should already have the starters defined a week before the start of the league.
