Erik ten Hag keeps punishing Cristiano Ronaldo benching him again

Manchester United have unveiled their line-up for today’s fixture against Arsenal and finally, there Erik ten Hag has not repeated the same starting XI for the fourth game in a row. However, there is still something that the fans are getting angry about, and that is Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence from the team sheet.

The Dutch manager has decided to bench his best player for the fourth consecutive game as he hasn’t started ever since the shocking 4-0 defeat against Brentford. Although the team has won in every game CR7 hasn’t started, that has to do with the great performance of the defense, the team needs someone who can score goals, and that’s Cristiano.

It looks like Erik ten Hag is punishing the 37-year-old striker for deciding to skip the entire pre-season tour while spending all summer looking for a new club that would play in the UEFA Champions League. It makes no sense that he isn’t starting Ronaldo at this point since Marcus Rashford isn’t playing that well upfront.

We’ll have to wait and see how long it will take for the Portuguese striker to start showing his discomfort with the new manager and starts causing trouble in the dressing room by having a negative attitude. We know Ronaldo is a winner and always wants to play every single minute of a match, so it is getting ridiculous at this point.

Another thing that is causing Manchester United fans to get upset is the fact that Casemiro has been benched once again. The former Real Madrid midfielder hasn’t started any single game ever since he was signed over three weeks ago, while Scott McTominay continues playing all the games somehow.
