Manchester United manager has reportedly called Sergiño Dest to inform him that he and the English club will go after him once Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves the team, according to Dario Montero from El Chiringuito. The reporter claims that his former manager told him that they will go after him only if they are able to clear his position.

We are less than 24 hours away from the transfer window closing at 12:00 on Thursday morning, so the Red Devils have to find a suitable club for the English right-back as soon as possible so they can close the signing of Dest. Barcelona are also hoping to find an appropriate destiny for the young full-back since he doesn’t feature in Xavi Hernandez’s plans.

Erik ten Hag has big plans with this Academy player this season

Unlike Barca, Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff still believe the 21-year-old full-back can still grow into the player everyone expected him to be when he first came out of the Ajax Academy with the Dutch manager in charge of Ajax senior squad. Dest is still very young, but everyone thinks he’s older because he burst into the elite when he was still a teenager.

Precisely, the new Manchester United manager was the one who got the most out of Sergiño Dest in his short career. He didn’t do well with Ronald Koeman and neither with Xavi at Barcelona. The potential and his footballing abilities are still there, he has proven it every time he has played for the United States national team, where he is a regular.

Reunited at United

Erik ten Hag is bringing the Ajax band back together at Old Trafford. First, he reunited with Donny van de Beek who returned to United after his loan spell at Everton last season; then it was Lisandro Martinez who joined back in July; Antony was the one who took longer, but he eventually signed a few days ago; now it could be Sergiño Dest.
