This Friday evening, Manchester United’s manager held a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match against Brentford. Besides of talking about the second game of the season, he was asked about yesterday’s breaking news about Paris Saint-Germain making a move for Marcus Rashford.

Ten Hag didn’t hesitate and confirmed that the English forward will stay as he still counts on him: “He is very important, you have seen from the first day I’m here, I’m really happy with him. I don’t want to lose him; he is definitely in our plans and will stay at Manchester United”. The new coach didn’t talk more about the subject.

Earlier today, Rob Dawson from ESPN, reported that Manchester United has made it clear to PSG that Rashford is not for sale. However, he also added that they would only accept a crazy amount of money for him. Some reports said that the French team was willing to pay €60 million, which is not even close to what the Red Devils would take.

Now it is being said by Samuel Luckhurst, who is very close to the club, that there are some people suspicious of Rashford’s brother and that he arranged the meeting with PSG as a negotiation tactic to put pressure on MUFC to offer Marcus a new deal. This could have worked because some media outlets are saying that the club is thinking of extending his contract.

The player wants to stay

Luckhurst also reported that Marcus Rashford has told the people at Man Utd that he prefers to stay at the Theatre of Dreams at this moment in his career. He also feels valued by the new manager Erik ten Hag, who has always said that he likes the forward and would love for him to stay at the club and be an option for the team.
