Erik ten Hag is still deciding which players are going to continue with the team for the next season and which ones are going to be cut out of the team for good.
The defense has been a huge problem for Manchester United this season, a season that has been filled with errors, and a lot of injuries from the players that are set to become the starters, but there is a reason why Maguire could definitely leave the team on a transfer this season and Ten Hag could decide to keep Lindelof in the team.
Both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire could be considered to be players that could come off the bench in any match or that could play with the team in case of an injury from a starting player, and with the possible signing of Kim Min-jae, the need for a back up center back could be just one, and this is the reason why Lindelof could take that spot.
In the match against Bournemouth, Lindelof reached a record that might show how good he is, Lindelof has started nine successive games for the first time in two years, and Manchester United have kept a clean sheets in five of those starts. This stadistic shows just how good Lindelof has been as the back up center back for the team.
One of the main goals and an option that Manchester United are really pushing to get is the Napoli defender, Kim Min-jae, and it seems that he is only a few details away to become the new center back for the red devils, and he is looking to arrive to the team as the starter player for the next season.
