Manchester United have been close to signing several important players this summer, but as is always the case in negotiations, some deals or talks fall through and that means that the signing cannot be made, however, many of us fans would have liked to see at least one of those players.
Erik Ten Hag has been on the lookout for players all summer, with the intention of strengthening the team, as the club is expected to be very successful this year, as they have brought in the reinforcements that have been in the budget, the young players have stepped up in quality and the squad is more united than ever, so the expectations are very high.
Although Ten Hag has only secured two signings and a third may be confirmed soon, there are players that did not make it and that the coach would have liked to have; a clear example is Harry Kane, because throughout this season break there was always talk that the Red Devils would need a striker if they wanted to be competitive and win titles, so the interest in Kane increased and at some point there was hope of signing him, however, Spurs did not accept any offer and there would end the illusion.
But it has not only been in the offensive, also in the defensive part has been looking for players with the ball handling qualities that the Dutch coach likes, one of them was Alex Disasi, the Monaco defender would have been in the sights of United for a while, but after signing other players, the talks stalled and would not hear anything about it again.
After the talks with Manchester United failed to consolidate, the French defender was contacted by several teams in Europe who also showed interest, now according to various reports, Alex Disasi would be hours away from signing for Chelsea, so Ten Hag will have to see the player he let go in the Premier League.
